How the data is meant to flow

The application reads from a typed data layer rather than hard-coded pages, so every company record has the same shape and the same derived metrics. Swapping the sample dataset for a live feed means replacing one module: registry data from an MCA21 source, annual accounts parsed from AOC-4 filings, and dealer quotes pushed in daily.

Derived values — EBITDA, profit before tax, net worth, book value, margins, return on equity, price-to-earnings, price-to-book and compound growth — are computed from the raw inputs at build time, so the numbers on a page can never drift out of step with each other.

A JSON API is exposed at /api/companies and /api/companies/[slug] for anything that needs to consume the same records programmatically.
