About Taparia Tools
Taparia Tools Limited, incorporated in 1965 and in production since 1969 in technical collaboration with Bahco of Sweden, is one of India's oldest and largest hand-tool brands. From factories at Satpur (Nashik) and Goa it makes spanners, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, cutting tools and tool kits sold through a nationwide dealer network under the Taparia brand.
The business is highly profitable and debt-free. Revenue from operations rose from ₹912.89 Cr in FY25 to ₹1,023.41 Cr in FY26, profit before tax from ₹164.88 Cr to ₹202.22 Cr and net profit to ₹151.53 Cr. Net cash was about ₹222 Cr (₹146 per share) and return on equity around 35–38%. The board recommended a final dividend of ₹35 per share for FY26.
The company's shares are technically listed on BSE (scrip 505685) but have not traded meaningfully for years, so the exchange quote of about ₹12 bears no relation to value. Genuine transfers happen in the unlisted market, where dealers quote ₹5,000–6,000 per share. The Taparia family and associates hold about 71.5% of the 1.52 Cr shares.
Revenue and profit totals come from published results; FY24 revenue and the balance-sheet split are reconstructed around reported totals and should be treated as approximate.

What works
- • Six decades of brand equity in hand tools with a Bahco-derived manufacturing process and 1,200 employees across Nashik and Goa.
- • Net profit margin near 15%, ROE above 35%, no borrowings and ₹222 Cr of net cash.
- • Consistent dividends (₹35 per share for FY26) backed by strong operating cash flow.
What to watch
- • Shares can only be bought and sold off-market because BSE trading is dormant; liquidity and price discovery depend on a handful of dealers.
- • At roughly ₹5,200 the stock trades near 52x FY26 earnings — a full valuation for a mature manufacturing business.
- • Promoter holding of 71.5% and a closely held board limit minority influence; any future delisting or reverse book-build would set the exit price.
