About Roots Multiclean

Roots Multiclean Limited (RMCL) designs and manufactures mechanised cleaning equipment at Coimbatore: walk-behind and ride-on sweepers and scrubber-driers, industrial and commercial vacuum cleaners, high-pressure jet cleaners, single-disc machines, steam cleaners, truck-mounted road sweepers for municipalities and airports, and escalator and carpet cleaners, plus consumables and a nationwide service network. Customers are factories, hospitals, hotels, malls, airports, metro and railway operators, facility-management companies and municipal bodies; the company exports to more than 50 countries and exhibits at Interclean Amsterdam. It is part of the Roots group founded by K. Ramasamy, whose flagship Roots Industries makes automotive horns, and RMCL was established in 1992 with German technology from Hako-Werke.

The share count is small — 20,00,000 shares of ₹10 (paid-up ₹2 Cr) per Planify — so each share carries a large slice of a sizeable business. The promoter is the Ramasamy family and group entities; Hako's historical technology and equity relationship is noted on company material but the current shareholding split is not published, so the promoter/public percentages below are estimates. The only directors retrievable were A. Balasubramaniam (director) and the group chairman; DINs were not verified.

Financials: a dealer listing headed 2023-24 shows total revenue of ₹320.51 Cr and profit after tax of ₹25.68 Cr (an 8% net margin), which this page treats as FY24. EMIS's 2025 summary says net sales rose 15.35% in FY25 while the net margin slipped 0.86 percentage points, which implies FY25 revenue near ₹370 Cr and profit near ₹26.5 Cr — both derived, not reported. The FY23 column is an estimate at roughly 89% of FY24. Balance-sheet and cash-flow lines are estimates built around an assumed FY25 net worth of about ₹190 Cr and modest debt; RMCL has historically been conservatively financed.

At UnlistedZone's ₹4,000 (as of 21 July 2026; lot 100) the 0.20 Cr shares are worth about ₹800 Cr — roughly 30x FY25 estimated earnings, 2.2x sales and 4x the assumed book value. Planify quoted ₹3,119 on 10 July 2026 with a 52-week high of ₹4,600 and a 45-share minimum, so the dealer spread is wide (about 28%) and the UnlistedZone level, used here as the user requested, sits toward the top of the recent range. Buyers should check the quote on the day and expect negotiation.

Verification status (10 Oct 2026): ISIN, share count, face value, rate, lot and dates are UnlistedZone and Planify figures from search snippets (both sites blocked from this sandbox); FY24 revenue and PAT are from an SBNRI dealer listing whose year label is ambiguous; FY25 growth and margin change are from an EMIS summary; location, product range and group history are from the company's own listings. CIN, incorporation date, directors' DINs, shareholding split, FY23 and FY25 absolute figures, balance-sheet lines and headcount are unverified or estimated.

What works

  • • Market leader in Indian mechanised cleaning equipment with a broad range (sweepers, scrubber-driers, vacuums, road sweepers) and a pan-India service network; exports to 50+ countries.
  • • Part of the Coimbatore Roots group (Roots Industries horns), founded by K. Ramasamy, with three decades of operating history and German (Hako) technology roots.
  • • Growing and profitable: about ₹320 Cr of FY24 revenue with ₹25.7 Cr PAT and FY25 sales up 15% per EMIS.
  • • Structural demand from Swachh Bharat municipal contracts, airports and metros, facility-management outsourcing and factory hygiene norms.

What to watch

  • • Only 20 lakh shares outstanding and a ₹4,000 price: UnlistedZone ₹4,000 versus Planify ₹3,119 is a 28% spread, so the implied ₹800 Cr valuation (30x estimated earnings) is soft.
  • • FY25 figures on this page are derived from percentage changes, not reported; FY23 and all balance-sheet lines are estimates.
  • • Competition from Nilfisk, Kärcher, Tennant and Chinese imports in a price-sensitive market; municipal receivables can be slow.
  • • Closely held family company with no published shareholding, dividend or IPO plan; 200-shareholder-style transfer frictions should be checked with the dealer.
